We need conversations around the table more than we need pinterest-laden table, perfect dinners and coordination home decor..

I remember fondly how our tiny flat was full of people spilling out onto the steps and me sitting in the door way with my plate of food in my hand. Laughing and being merry as the conversations filled me up to the brim, spilling over.
Now my home bigger than our flat, to afraid for people too spill out of my door.
What has changed? I can tell you. The need for everything to be perfect, for my home to look like my Pinterest mood board, having matching table wear, cutlery…..
But gathering together is so much more than the perfect plates, perfect homes and the perfect meals.
The best conversations and deep connections I ever had was with a simple meal that did not look enough but became enough for all of us. Laughing and leaving filled with joy, deep sense of belonging, encouraged and being connected with my sisters and brothers in Christ.
WE SHOULD STOP IT!! I should stop it.
We should not allow for the enemy to fool us that material things are more important than having people in our homes.
We should devote ourselves to each other as the early church.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer…Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.” Acts 2:42, 46-47.
I can’t wait just imagine us stronger, relentless, unshakable.
Can you see it? …
Much love, Zelna
